Conscious Living, Deep Thinking…

Our world is in the midst of a quantum shift from one dominant role player to a multitude of players. According to data monitored by the  International Committee of Red Cross. There are over 130 active armed conflicts occurring globally across roughly 60 countries. We, the human residents of this planet, have no other alternative than to raise our consciousness together and begin the open conversation about how we can mutually resolve our differences without military conflict.

The unprecedented results of this uncontrolled doubling of the military conflicts over the last 15 years is as follows:

1. Unprecedented Displacement and Loss of Agency

  • Mass Displacement: The number of forcibly displaced people worldwide has surged to a record high, surpassing 120 million. Millions are trapped in a state of permanent limbo, losing their homes, legal protections, and a sense of personal agency.
  • Loss of Home as Sanctuary: Conflict strips away the psychological and physical security of “home,” replacing it with the acute vulnerability of refugee camps or informal settlements.

2. Systematic Collapse of Public Health and Mental Trauma

  • The “Slow Toll” of War: While modern weapons inflict immediate mass casualties, the destruction of water infrastructure, sanitation systems, and power grids leads to far more deaths through preventable diseases like cholera and malnutrition.
  • Mental Health Crisis: Entire generations are growing up with toxic stress and severe trauma. The lack of mental health resources in active conflict zones means conditions like PTSD, severe anxiety, and depression go untreated, fracturing the psychological foundation of communities for decades.
  • Targeting of Healthcare: Modern conflicts have seen a devastating rise in attacks on hospitals and medical personnel, completely dismantling the safety nets meant to alleviate human suffering.

3. Acute Food Insecurity and Starvation as a Weapon

  • Engineered Famine: Conflict remains the primary driver of global hunger. War directly disrupts agricultural cycles, destroys farmlands, and blocks critical trade routes.
  • Deprivation: In many contemporary conflicts, civilian populations face catastrophic levels of hunger because humanitarian aid is actively blockaded or weaponized, attacking the most fundamental requirement for human survival.

4. Fragmented Social Fabric and Existential Alienation

  • Erosion of Social Trust: Prolonged warfare fractures the communal bonds, shared rituals, and neighborhood trust that ground human life. When communities are forced to compete for survival, social cohesion dissolves into suspicion.
  • Interrupted Futures: With thousands of schools destroyed or closed globally, tens of millions of children are missing out on an education. This does not just stall economic mobility; it robs young people of a structured environment, purpose, and hope for the future.

5. The Stagnation of Global Progress

  • Diverted Resources: As nations pour trillions of dollars into defense budgets and military aid to manage these overlapping crises, vital funding is diverted away from existential global goals—such as eradicating extreme poverty, funding medical research, and combating climate change.

Our so-called leaders and governments are obviously not addressing or even beginning to solve this potential self destruction of our precious species and our dear Mother Earth. Among all organic life that we have experienced, we humans have the most developed consciousness. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to wake up out of our sleep walking and get involved, even if just by recycling our over consumption properly. Thinking about how we can reduce our driving and reducing of electricity. Be conscious of conserving our fresh water. There are so many small ways which implemented by millions can have a beneficial result. From Lao Tzu, the ancient Chinese philosopher;

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. We can do this!
